How is Temple Glow Wellness Different from other Medical Practices?

Soul-Inspired, Personalized, Whole Person, Root-Cause Medicine

At Temple Glow Wellness we treat the whole person, from the root, to restore and optimize health. We appreciate that optimal health looks different for every person at various stages of their life and honor that by meeting you where you are.

We believe that your story & the spectrum of your life are of utmost importance and that you have the right & power to claim ownership of your body & health.

We encourage you to trust what your body is telling you. Our bodies are wise in alerting us when something needs attention. Physical, emotional, and mental manifestations are our body speaking to us, and while not every symptom requires a treatment, these cues from our body can be utilized as an opportunity to pause and make healthful shifts.

Sometimes our bodies speak in a whisper. At other times, it is straight up sounding an alarm!

Stubborn symptoms or those that affect your quality of life are a sign that whispers have been ignored. Patients come to us seeking answers and solutions after hitting a wall with other approaches. At times they’ve found mild relief only for symptoms to return because the why was never addressed.

This is where we come in! We partner with you, in decoding your “body talk”.

Like detectives, we comb through the clues your body is conveying, evaluate labs, add what’s missing, remove triggers, reassess, make adjustments…

Health does not happen in silos. We consider the web of life: mind/mood, gut health, detoxification, inflammation/immunity, hormones, energy/mitochondrial status, physical structure, genetics and your environment are essential. From preconception to present. All of it matters.

Making changes to shift complex health concerns can feel overwhelming but it does not have to be. Drinking from a fire hose is no fun!

We aim to create unique treatment plans delivered in bite-sized pieces, layering in the goodness, with ongoing guidance so that our patients are simultaneously empowered and supported.

You may have been told “everything is normal”, but your gut is telling you otherwise. We’re listening and here to help.

What to Expect

Biology takes time to shift, particularly when aiming to get to the root and nourish the physiologic ‘soil’ for long-lasting health. Our approach is not a quick-fix. Transformational healing takes time, particularly when working with hormones.

Astrid is whole-heartedly invested in the wellness of her patients.

Patients should be ready to partner on this journey, be curious to learn the why’s of their symptoms, and be committed to making shifts in nutrition, lifestyle & mindset.

  1. DISOVERY CALL: The first step to joining our Functional Medicine Membership is the Discovery Call. This 20-minute meeting with Astrid Monroe, FNP is to discuss your health goals and assess your readiness to partner. If you’re ready, you are welcome!

  2. NEW PATIENT DOCUMENTS: Completing these is a powerful starting point. This information helps us get to know you better and is also an opportunity for self- reflection on your story and patterns.

    a. Comprehensive Intake Form: We start with in-depth information gathering. I invite you to sit with a relaxing cup of herbal tea as you take time to thoughtfully complete this health inventory form.

    b. 3-Day Food Journal: We consider nutrition to be foundational to your well-being. There is zero judgment about what you write on these forms. Transparency helps us best serve and support you.

  3. INITIAL VISIT: This comprehensive 80-minute visit is where we take a deep dive into your history. We begin to peel back the layers, assessing what has helped or hurt you and get a glimpse of your ‘typical day’. We review old labs and plan when new labs, herbs, supplements, and diet changes will be implemented.

  4. LABS: Laboratory testing can be helpful and is often necessary. In an effort to make integrative and functional medicine within reach; we try to limit functional medicine testing and instead utilize conventional labs where possible.

If you have recent labs from another provider, we encourage you submit this with your intake form and food journal.

  5. PERSONALIZED TREATMENT PLAN: We aim to keep recommendations simple, slowly adding in and/or removing elements to support optimal health.

Your personalized treatment plan can include: healing foods, herbal medicine, nutritional supplements, prescription medication, lifestyle counseling, exercise prescriptions, and stress management skills.

  6. ONGOING SUPPORT: Private monthly visits with Astrid Monroe, FNP and weekly Open Office Hours with other TGW Members on similar journeys.
